How would Prabhakaran read Ahmadinejad’s visit to Sri Lanka ?

It is quite interesting and important to visualize as to how Velupillai Prabhakaran hiding under cover of an underground bunker in Wanni, would read Iranian President, Mahmud Ahmadinejad’s Sri Lankan tour, since now Prabhakaran has become the person who decides on the foreign policy of Sri Lanka .
After Independence , the foreign policy of Sri Lanka had been decided by the heads of governments in the country who were in power.

Today it is not the head of the government who decides on the foreign policy, it would be by Prabhakaran.

It appears that Prabhakaran is present in the world map, as Sri Lanka ’s foreign policy is decided at that point.

In other words, the decision of the foreign policy of Sri Lanka would emanate consequent to the countries which would provide arms to Sri Lanka or not supply arms to fight the war against Prabhakaran.

From 1947 to 1987 Sri Lanka ’s foreign policy was decided on the basis of maintaining goodwill with either capitalist or socialist countries. After 1987 decisions on Sri Lanka’s foreign policy was based on maintaining goodwill with India . But today this vital decision is made on how Prabhakaran deals with the international community.

That is why it was mentioned as the importance of knowing as to how Prabahakaran would read the visit of Iranian President to Sri Lanka .

In 1980 during the May Day Rally organized by the LTTE and held in Jaffna there was a huge poster depicting a world leader, carried through in the parade.

The poster was none other than that of the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Khomeini.

The slogans for this May Day parade that were enforced by the LTTE were that of anti-American with slogans such as :

“Reagan stop arms supply to Sri Lanka ”

“JR – Reagan Neo Hitlerites”

These are some of the few slogans that were carried through on that May Day parade. The purpose of organizing this May Day Rally was the rumour that America has been instrumental in getting the help of the Mossad – Israeli secret service to J R who was in power during that time.

Whatever it is, on that day the hero of that May Day parade organized by the LTTE was the great Iranian leader Khomeini.

This was around 28 years ago. Today, after 28 years, the international hero of the government and of President Mahinda Rajapaksa has been Mahmud Ahmadinejad, the present Iranian President.

Last week the Colombo city was decorated with cut-outs of President Mahinda Rajapaksa embracing Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.

Prominent Indian observer, B Raman has said that Iran has expressed her willingness to provide the services of the Iranian Secret Services and to train Sri Lankan secret servicemen by Iranian secret service experts.

Therefore, now, maybe Prabhakaran would be thinking of organizing a protest parade against Iran in the Wanni?

Prabhakaran however is not such a fool. Since the early days, except for India , the Middle-eastern countries have been Prabhakaran’s friends. Main among them were the countries Lebanon and Syria .

Prabhakaran, before long,has learnt one thing. That is with the Muslim Fundamentalists in the middle-eastern countries, he could never complete his journey.

If he wants to get his cherished dream of establishing Eelam he has to walk along with America and Western European countries which themselves have self imposed a method of creating governments in the world.

Subsequent to the al-Qaeda terrorist attack on America , Prabhakaran had put up a great attempt to indicate that the LTTE was not involved in any kind of connection with middle-eastern terrorist organizations. In the meantime, with the same tempo LTTE attempts to show that they were not having any connections with Middle-eastern terrorist organizations. The Sri Lankan government has also made a tremendous attempt to show that in fact the LTTE has a connection with these terrorist organizations.

Prabhakaran did not utter a single word against America , even after America has declared that the LTTE was a terrorist organization and even after the American FBI destroyed by fragmenting the LTTE international network into three or four pieces.

America has declared the LTTE as a terrorist organization. In the same manner, America has declared that Iran is a country that helps terrorist organizations. America chases after and attacks the LTTE organization and other international organizations that supply funds and do transactions with LTTE. On the other hand it has warned countries that have connections and transactions with Iran . It is a very fine ground for the LTTE to seek the assistance of Iran But Prabhakaran does not like to antagonize America by having involvements with the terrorist organizations in the Middle-East.

Then why does the government of Mahinda ridicule America by being in the bosom of Iran ?

It is not a secret that America has had a close look at the Iranian President’s South Asian tour. On April 21 at a Press Conference, certain journalists questioned the stance that would be taken by America from the spokesperson of the American State Department on the Iranian President’s tour to South Asian countries including Sri Lanka . The spokesperson in answer has stated that individual countries should decide as to how they should have connections and relations with Iran .The spokesperson further indicated that all countries including Sri Lanka should insist to the Iranian President that Iran should stop providing assistance to such organizations like Hisbulla and Hamas.

Why should President Mahinda Rajapaksa be confronted by America to tell the President of Iran not to help such terrorist organizations like Hisbulla and Hamas, when he visits Sri Lanka ? Would Mahinda Rajapaksa have asked the Iranian President not to help the terrorists in Iran , not to help such terrorist organizations like Hisbulla and Hamas?

From the day Mahinda and his government has come to power they have been repeatedly asking such countries like America and other countries not to promote such terrorist organizations like LTTE and to block the siphoning of funds to the LTTE.

Before Mahinda tells it, America has declared and suppressed the LTTE as a terrorist organization and prevented the collection of funds for the LTTE. They have attacked it so severely and ruptured the nerve centre of the LTTE international network. Then why should America force Sri Lanka to call upon Iran not to encourage terrorism? Sri Lanka in a roundabout way seems to be encouraging Iran , what would be the reaction of America and the European countries on this Sri Lankan move?

Prabhakaran would read the visit of Iranian President to Sri Lanka keeping the above in mind . The intentions of Prabhakaran is to create as many problems between America and Sri Lanka as possible and to create more problems between Sri Lanka and West European countries.

If such problems mount up, Prabhakaran would not mind, even container loads of arms being supplied by Iran to Sri Lanka .

At the final analysis of this whole situation, the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran are all at loggerheads with America

The accusations against Iran have been that of the involvement in the Nuclear Programme and helping terrorists.

The accusations against Sri Lanka ’s Mahinda have been the human rights violations and the accusation against Prabahakaran of Wanni has been his involvement in terrorism.

Under these precarious circumstances, all these three men are desperately turning the world map upside down in search of friends. Even, Ahmadinejad is in search of a friend who is not afraid of America and Mahinda also is in search of a friend who is not afraid of America . They both try to become friends to get rid of their fear of America . Prabhakaran wants to expose this friendship between Ahmadinejad and Mahinda and frighten America And this is the way Prabhakaran reads Ahmadinejed’s visit to Sri Lanka.
