Dubai: An Indian and his Sri Lankan friend, undergoing prison terms for murdering their colleague, were saved by a UAE man who helped to pay their “blood money” for their pardon. Radwad Naeem (37), and Sri Lankan Abdul Rahim Mohammad Farouq (43), had spent about 10 years in jail after a court convicted them for the murder.
The two stabbed their roommate to death after a fight. A court here sentenced them in 1998 for the murder of their colleague, who hails from Kerala.
Emirati Khadim M. Al Daheri (42), who saved the duo, said he was just responding to the friendship he shared with them during his short stay in the jail. — PTI
