Gmail: Import Contacts from Yahoo! Mail

If you are wanting to move from Yahoo! Mail to Gmail

1. Go to Yahoo! Mail and login to your email account.

2. Go to the upper right corner and select Options.

3. Select Mail Options.

4. From the menu on the left side, click on Contact Options.

5. Go to the upper right and click the Import/Export link.

6. Scroll down to the Export section.

7. Click the Export Now button next to Yahoo! CSV.

8. Save the csv file containing your contacts to your computer.

9. Go to Gmail and login to your email account.

10. Using the menu bar on the left side, click the Contacts link.

11. Go to the upper-right corner and click the Import link.

12. Click the Browse button and go to the location that you placed the .csv file. Select the saved file and click Open. Click the Import Contacts button.

13. A confirmation message will appear stating that the import completed and notifying you of how many contacts were successfully imported.

14. Click the Close link.

Google Calendar: Receive an Email of your Daily Agenda

Trying to keep track of all your meetings and events can be a struggle. Fortunately, Google Calendar can make it easier by emailing you a daily agenda of all the events you have posted on your calendar. This gives you a simple listing of your appointments and such that you can print out or easily access.

1. Log in to your Google Calendar.

2. Go to the horizontal menu in the upper right and select Settings.

3. Under Calendar Settings, select the Calendars link.



4. Go to the desired calendar on the list of My Calendars. Select the Notifications link for that calendar.

5. Go to the Choose how you would like to be notified section. Check the Daily agenda checkbox.


Your Daily Agenda will be emailed to you daily at 5am in you current time zone.

Gmail for Mobile: Remove Promotional Footer from Composed Emails

Google's java app for accessing your Gmail from your cell phone is a great solution for staying in touch when you're on the go. However, the application likes to promote itself by placing a promotional footer on every email you send from it. If you don't want your emails to be sent with the footer (Sent from Gmail for mobile), then follow these steps:
1. Start the Gmail for Mobile application on your phone.

2. Select Menu.

3. Select Go to, followed by Settings.

4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings window and uncheck the When I send mail, add "Sent from Gmail for mobile" to the end of my messages checkbox.

5. Select Save.

Your composed emails will no longer contain the footer.

Gmail: Import Contacts from Hotmail

If you are wanting to move from Microsoft's Hotmail to Gmail, one of the first things you'll need to do is to move your contacts over. Fortunately, both email clients make this an easy and painless process.

1. Go to Hotmail and login to your email account.

2. Go to the toolbar on the left side and select Contacts.

3. Go to the upper-right corner, click Options and select Export Contacts

4. Click the Export contacts button.

5. When prompted to open or save the file, click Save. Browse to the desired location and click Save again.

6. A .csv file that contains your contacts from Hotmail will now be on your computer.

7. Go to Gmail and login to your email account.

8. Using the menu bar on the left side, click the Contacts link.

9. Go to the upper-right corner and click the Import link.

10. Click the Browse button and go to the location that you placed the .csv file. Select the saved file and click Open. Click the Import Contacts button.

11. A confirmation message will appear stating that the import completed and notifying you of how many contacts were successfully imported.

12. Click the Close link.
